The little sisters of Mary Immaculate of Gulu (LSMIG) was founded in order to uplift the standard and dignity of women in Northern Uganda. Therefor the sisters were being educated as teachers so that they can help the vulnerable women and children.
Brief message
Later the medical concern came in because the sick and pregnant women are also vulnerable and Christ was a healer and left this healing Ministry to the medical personals. The institute promoted this Ministry of Jesus Christ and now we have the medical personals;
- The doctors
- Pharmacists
- Anaesthetists
- Anaesthetists
- Laboratory Assistants
- Radiographer
- Nurses
- Midwives
- Theatre Assistants
These sisters work in different hospitals and health centres and their work represents Christ to the sick and they do it with love and honesty. We are just instruments and Christ is the one to heal. The kindness, compassion and love that we show to the patient give them hope and healing holistically.
The department of health is also helping the sisters a lot, because as the institute is now 77 years old we have many elderly and sick sisters who leave in the rest house and they can not do most of the things by themselves and there is always at least one medical sister who is with them there with some sisters who are taking care of them.
Therefor this department is very important as there are many types of diseases coming in and need proper management and care of the sick and the weak
